38 YEARS AGO TODAY …

2nd April 1984
I opened my first shop at 3 Canongate, Royal Mile, Edinburgh.

HQ of Scottish & Newcastle Breweries was across the road.
It’s now the Scottish Parliament building!

The Palace Of Holyrood house is still there.

At one stage I had three including 3000 square feet flagship at 11, High Street, Royal Mile.
The World’s End pub was across the road and John Knox’s House next door. The Scotland rubgy team used my High Street shop as an unofficial meeting place before a home international fixture at Murrayfield.

Current coach Gregor Townsend had his Scottish kilt outfit made by my tailors for his 21st birthday. His dad also had an outfit made by my team.
