I had just returned to my parked car after some geocaching when I saw black smoke on the M8 motorway. Roughly ten minutes after I filmed this the Emergency Services stopped the eastbound traffic to allow a fire engine to drive down ‘the wrong way’ from nearby J5 Shotts.

I could see and hear items exploding from the inferno.

After about a further twenty minutes the road was made safe and traffic allowed to continue.
